“RECONCILIATION | The weekend of the Dakota Conference on Wounded Knee is coming up.
I was not chosen as an artist to share my experiences of Wounded Knee, nor am I a speaker at this event—however I am attending and I’ve plenty to say while I’m there—about my experience as the CHILD HOSTAGE during the occupation of Wounded Knee by the American Indian Movement, as well as my reconciliation project.
Check out the conference info, including some of my comments, at https://www.facebook.com/CenterforWesternStudies.
I’ll be updating Uncover Our Hearts at Wounded Knee in the next couple of days. If you’ve not LIKED the page yet, please visit it and consider adding it to your list of LIKEs so you get notifications of updates.
It’s an interactive project, so please feel free to post to the page.
Also please note—the page is curated—we’re interested in reconciliation re: the many issues around Native America, so please be mindful when posting.
With love and in peace,
Carter Camp negotiating Wounded Knee
South Dakota Senator George McGovern asking Carter Camp to release the hostages. The hostages did not want to be released. They stood with the takeover. Mrs. Gildersleeve, trading post owner and hostage:
“We’re not hostages! We’re gonna remain here! It’s your fault that They’re here! If we leave… YOU’ll kill them if we leave.”
Once they realized no one was being held hostage the senators hoped to persuade the protesters to stand down.
Now, what is really going on with this AIM mythmaking propaganda being released right before the Dakota Conference with the US Government & Carter Camp so-called negotiating about no one being hostages during the Seige of Wounded Knee?
Haven’t you figured out BOYZ & US Government, this ruse isn’t going to work any longer….think up a new spin, but…no one will believe you any longer, cats out of the bag!
The American Indian Movement’s propaganda is nothing more than a pack of lies to protect themselves (AIM) & US interests! The Seige of Wounded Knee was a staged event…..where 7 or more innocent people were murdered, one being Perry Ray Robinson….
Everyone should be asking why nothing has been, or was done for the victims & survivors of Wounded Knee & the American Indian Movement!
